Happy Halloween

These pictures were taken on Saturday when we went to a Halloween Parade. Tonight we are going trick or treating. My mom is going to stay at my Aunt's house and keep Nathan and hand out Candy while Kevin and I take the girls around.

Jack-o-lantern's

Kevin was off from Work on Wednesday so when Gabby got out of school we carved the pumpkins. Kevin did most of the hard work. He scraped my pumpkin all out and then I carved a Cat face. The girls had fun helping him and told him what they wanted him to carve on their pumpkins.

Pre-K Week 7

MONDAY
Gabby had a hard time getting up for school. She was really sleepy. Her teacher told me that she is doing really well with counting and her letters.
TUESDAY
There were a couple new kids in Gabby's Class today. I think they have around 14 kids now.
WEDNESDAY
I stayed in the classroom for a little over an hour today and took some pictures of the kids doing activities in the classroom. The Teacher said the pictures turned out really well. I was not allowed to keep the pictures but she took them off my Memory card and put them on her computer.
THURSDAY
Gabby was excited when I picked her up telling me about her costume she made for the Alphabet Parade they are doing Friday. They are not allowed to celebrate Halloween so they are doing this instead.
 FRIDAY
Poor Gabby was up all night throwing up. She wasn't able to go to school so she has to miss her Parade. :( This is only week 7 and she has already been sick 3 times. She should have a really good immune system built up by the time she starts Kindergarten next year.

Pre-K week 6

MONDAY
Gabby was complaining of her stomach hurting when she went to the bathroom so I didn't send her to school and took her to the doctor but they didn't find anything wrong and by the afternoon she was fine.

TUESDAY
When I dropped her off we had another parent meeting. When it was time to pick her up Kevin and the kids and I all went and we decided to go apple picking. When we got to the place to pick apples the guy said they no longer let people go in and pick due to damage. So we just bought some instead. Then we drove around some back roads and stopped at a store and bought some pumpkins for the kids.

WEDNESDAY
Gabby must have had fun painting today because she came home with a different shirt on and her shirt she wore to school was in her back soaked in paint! Luckily it is washable and all came out!

THURSDAY
Kevin took her to school and dropped her off. He had to work at 10:00 so I took Avalynn and Nathan with me when I picked her up.

FRIDAY
Gabby woke up early and when I went to pick her up this afternoon she was crying for me and seemed really tired. She hasn't been taking a nap at school because they are letting her look at books on her mat. I like it when she doesn't nap because she goes to bed so much better at night. Most of the time she doesn't need one but when we got home I gave her and Avalynn both a nap. This picture is from after her nap.

4Th Grade- In my Own Words.

I went to a very small Christian School for grades 1-8. While I was there I had some Wonderful teacher's and Teacher's Aide. While looking for something in my hope chest today I came across a keepsake Book I had given my Mom for Mother's day one year. (She recently gave it back but I didn't look at it very much) We had a really sweet teacher that year. I thought of her like a second Mother and her daughter was one of my best friends. Those days are some I can always look back on with love and happiness.  The book had poems and little stories from the whole class. I am posting some that I wrote.

Oatmeal yogurt chocolate chip cookies

Gabby loves greek Yogurt and I had a coupon for 1.00 off two. They were only 1.00 each so I got them for 50 cents each. I thought I had grabbed the blueberry because the container was blue. But it ended up that it was plain flavored. None of us like the plain so I looked up some recipes using it. I found this one and since I had everything on hand I tried it. They are a good twist to the chocolate chip cookies.

INGREDIENTS:

- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup plain nonfat or low fat yogurt
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup uncooked rolled oats
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips

 DIRECTIONS:
  • Heat oven to 375° F.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugars, yogurt, butter, oil, and vanilla until well blended. Add flour, baking soda, salt, and oats. Blend until smooth. Stir in chips.
  • Drop dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Use a little over 1 teaspoon of dough per cookie. Bake for approximately 9 minutes or until cookies are just turning golden brown.
  • Let cool for one minute before removing them from the cookie sheet and onto a cooling rack.
